Ian Green challenged us at CpS - ChurchplantingSchool, about having a Kingdom mindset as opposed only a church centric mindset. Excellent stuff. I believe a Kingdom mindset is the way of Jesus.

Please understand this comes from a passion for the local church. Make no mistake, Jesus is building His Church and coming back for His church, He loves His church so much He died for it. I love the church, I've been involved with His church for over 40 years and I'm still passionate about His church. Yet Kingdom is what Jesus speaks most about. The Kingdom is mentioned over 80 times and Jesus talked about the Church twice.

Jesus talked about giving us the keys of the Kingdom. So what keys has God given you for your community? If your church disappeared this week, would people in your city or community miss your church being there?

My desire is that the yeast of the Kingdom is planted in the dough of society. We want to bleed Kingdom, Monday to Friday!  Ian Green.

Didn't Jesus pray, "Your Kingdom come, on earth as it is in Heaven". That's not for the future only it's for NOW!

So lets look at being Kingdom centric which also breeds and breaths a mission and multiplication culture. (I am drawing on notes from Ian Green, Tom Wolf & Carol Davis - International Urban Institute).

For the sake of clarity I have categorized them into the

PART 1. -Beginnings of a church plant. (Which by the way continues throughout the lifetime of a church).PART 2. -Leadership and Finances.PART 3. -Structure.

The Beginning focus.     

Church Centric

• Individual salvations
• Believers turf
• From events
• ‍Scripture taught for information
• Find Christians
• Begin in facilities
• Celebration - large group
• Do ministry for them
• Build programs / buildings
• Our Church
• Being known by God. His love, favor

Kingdom (Mission - Multiplication) Centric

• Whole household salvations / Group salvations
• Unbeliever's turf
• To process. The road to salvation is a journey. The Billy Graham association say on average there are 11 different people that a person talks to and 14 meaningful conversations before conversion takes place.
• Scripture taught for application
• Find people of peace. Luke 10:1-9
• Begin where-ever people are: in homes, cafes, factories, offices
• Celebration - large group 
• Cell - small group
• Enable and empower everyone to do ministry
• Build leaders
• Your Church 
• Being known in hell. the devil shudders, for you are     grace, power, who we are in Christ... impregnating society with HIM.

                                    I think this would generate excellent discussion in a church planting team... give it a go!
