Around The World In 30 Days

Hi Guys,

It's been a busy, but purposeful time since my last update. There's so much to catch you up on!

Many decades ago, God put Europe on our hearts. Then over a number of years the vision that formed was 'Igniting church planting networks'.

Holland... In Terneuzen, south Holland, a network has formed. They are now beginning their own network of churches, both in Holland & Belgium.

The relationship changes, but it doesn’t end.

Hundreds of seeds in Europe have been planted regarding discipleship and the multiplication of churches… The Holy Spirit, through prophetic words, has confirmed this many times – even a couple of times this trip.

France... The larger the building, the deeper the foundations go and also it takes longer to build them.

In Le Havre, Normandie, the foundations have been worked on for many years and they are sustainable, healthy and strong. Over the next few years I would be surprised if we don’t see the multiplication we have been believing for. What they have at the moment is happy & healthy.

My book How to Multiply Churches has been translated to French. Again, seeds have been planted.Visit my Bookstore to get your copy. (In English... or French!)

The United Kingdom... Karen & I have enjoyed catching up with Ian & Judith Green in Malvern, UK. They are long-time friends & ministry connectors.

So good to spend time with people who you can share your heart and journey with, (and coffee & sightseeing). We went for a quick visit to Wales where Karen’s grandmother was born. Then on to Henley where we were  delighted to watch our niece Saskia row in the Henley Royal Regatta. Hats, blazers & ties for the men and dresses for the ladies! 28-30 degrees most days. Saskia got into the semi-finals, but alas not their day to win. Great to be supporters with family.

I enjoy quotes… Here is a quote from Catherine Booth, co-founder of the Salvation Army alongside her husband William:

Let's be Jesus disrupters

Actually, I have written a quote book - Multiplication. It's filled with great quotes from many great church planting minds for inspiration and encouragement. You can order a copy by heading to my Bookstore.

Although at times, it seems progress is slow, something is happening!

As I met with different leaders in Europe, the below stats were verified. My friend who works for Alpha in Holland, says that the Alpha courses in Holland have tripled already this year, compared to the whole of last year. Something is taking place… it will be interesting to see what unfolds in Europe, and maybe, just maybe - things will also move forward at the ends of the earth.

INTERESTING & EXCITING STATS FROM PETE GRIEG

Pete is the founder & leader of 24/7 Prayer. This message was delivered in June 2025 and titled 'Awakening'. (Access the full message via the link at the bottom.)“The Times has said, (Gen Z), if you're 25 years or younger, you're under 50% less likely to be an atheist than your parents. Atheism is what your parents did. It's no longer particularly interesting or edgy or appealing because it doesn't seem to be working."

It seems that young people are returning to church in the UK in very significant numbers. The book trade has been flat for a number of years, with one notable exception. Bible sales have risen 87% in the UK over the last eight years. They have rocketed, driven by first time buyers.

The Economist in March said after years of steady decline, the Christian population in America has levelled off, and this seems to be fuelled in part by young people. This was the exact opposite of what everyone was predicting, even just two years ago. In April, Christianity was borderline illegal in Silicon Valley. Now it's the new religion.

And then there's the Daily Telegraph, “Revival”, it says in an editorial, “is to be welcomed”. And then, it's interesting seeing what's happening around mainland Europe, in France, this last Easter, 17 thousand people were welcomed into the Catholic Church through baptism. That is a 31% spike and a year on year continuing growth.

Then we have Finland, the number of 15 to 29 year old men attending church has more than doubled over the last eight years. We're seeing similar, results, although not quite as dramatic as in Norway and Sweden.

In the UK it's been picked up by all the broadsheet newspapers & TV news.

This is research done over a number of years on a massive number of people. About 19,000 people surveyed. When the government does research, it's on a much smaller survey. So this is pretty credible. And it's been done, as I say, twice over a number of years; and what they found is that church attendance has risen by 50%, over the last six years.

The most dramatic growth is amongst young adults. In 2018, it was estimated by their research that 4% of young men were attending church once a month. And now the number has gone up by 16% to actually over 20%.
This is very exciting and encouraging.
